The streaming services HBO Max and Discovery+ will be merged into one service. In the USA, it will happen next summer. In Norway and the rest of the world, it will happen in 2024.

David Zaslav, the chief executive of the merged company Warner Bros. Discovery, announced the change when the company reported second-quarter results on Thursday, NBC News reports.

The merged service has not yet been given a name.

Worldwide, the two services have a combined 92 million subscriptions, according to the quarterly report. Warner Bros. Discovery hopes to reach 130 million subscribers by 2025.

The company is also considering a free, ad-supported version of the merged streaming service, according to Zaslav.
