Bishop Gunnar Stålsett will officiate at the service, also a tradition for the Crown Princess, which for several years has appreciated Stålsett as spiritual director. Friendship has evolved after the Crown Prince and Princess had long conversations with the bishop before they were married for almost twelve years ago. Stålsett gave a warm and touching speech when he married them on the 25th of August 2001. The Crown Prince however, will follow his father's example and celebrate his 40th anniversary in private.
